January 2019

Happy New Year from BCAM!

Please enjoy the first edition of the 2019 BCAM Newsletter.  It is BCAM’s mission to serve you by providing valuable information, important dates, related stories and much more, to support your growth and success as a coach and mentor.  Our team at BCAM wishes you and your team good health and continuous improvement, on and off the court.

As you move through the season, always take time to reflect on why you coach: the love of the game, the ability to compete, the teachable moments, the ability to serve, and most importantly the relationships you build with your players.

Best Regards,

Dan Young
Executive Director

Identify your simple engagement opportunity today

Through fundraising and education, the CvC program has supported the ACS in helping to save lives. In fact, we’ve seen a 25% reduction in cancer death rates since 1991. But the fight isn’t over, and we need you on our team.

Did you know?
  • $130 can provide wigs for two patients in treatment. Last year, nearly 700 wigs were provided in Michigan!
  • Our 24/7 helpline handled more than 22,000 calls and live chats from Michigan residents seeking support, information, and resources, in 2017. They receive 320-250 average calls per day, Nationwide. $25 can help one person get free information, support, and access to resources, through our 24/7 helpline.
  • $50 could help provide patients and caregivers with a night of free lodging when they have to travel for cancer treatment.
  • In 2017, we provided 7,250 nights of free lodging at our Hope Lodge communities to Michigan residents, and more than 720 nights of free or reduced cost lodging through our Hotel Partners Program.
  • The ACS is currently funding 22 grants at six institutions and universities in Michigan totaling nearly $15 million.

Have a consistent plan and sell that vision.
If you asked 5 of your players to write down the top three things your program stands for, would they repeat most of the same principles?
