March 2019

Greetings from BCAM.

Our office is very busy getting ready to award the many high school and college varsity coaches, varsity teams and varsity players on their successful seasons. If you are a head varsity coach, please nominate those who are deserving.
If you are an "actively coaching BCAM member" please check your email spam folder if you haven't received the Mr Basketball ballot (sent out 2/27) and also look for the Miss Basketball ballot on 3/6.

The BCAM board of directors recently voted in Steve Norgrove (Rochester Stoney Creek Boys Head Coach) to be president elect starting next school year. Steve will serve for 3 years. Our board looks for those members who go above and beyond in serving BCAM. Steve has been a regional director for many years and will bring positive energy and new ideas to our board.

We broke another record for membership with 5845 members. This is the 7th year in a row we have increased in membership. We are the largest basketball coaches association in the country for the 6th consecutive year. Congratulations to our regional directors for all their hard work and a special thanks to Amy Heydenburg for all that she does for our great organization.

Best Regards,
Dan Young
Executive Director

BCAM is gearing up to give out hundreds of awards to high school and college varsity players and teams. Below is the calendar of nomination periods for each award. If you have questions about the awards--what they are or how to qualify for them, please see the article on our website devoted to this topic: http://www.bcam.org/content/bcams-hs-playerteam-awards-familiarize-yourself-criteria. If your question is not answered there, please email me and let me know.
ALL of the award nomination forms are online forms this year. ALL nomination forms will be found under the NOMINATION FORMS tab at the BCAM website and head varsity coaches must login to access the nomination forms.
Remember--- 1. The deadlines are non-negotiable 2. After EVERY nomination you make, you should receive a confirmation email. This confirmation email is important to RECEIVE and KEEP in case any question arises about your nomination later. So keep it until after the awards are announced. Perhaps somewhere in Michigan a group of coaches, players, parents, teachers, and fans could copy the formula from the seventies that brought our team, school, and town so much success.
If a coach can find a group of players that only care about one thing, and that’s winning, it can be done.
